I can say that I did at one point I did have Comcast (or now known as Xfinity) until I couldn’t afford it due to the rising costs. I did try internet streaming services like Netflix and Hulu Plus, until I found that I was getting bored with the selection they had. I never thought about getting satellite service until I started working for Dish and realized how affordable the prices are with Dish. I may be biased in my opinion now but the fact that anyone (not just me) can get two TV’s, DVR, and HD for only a fraction of the cost of cable. Sounds like a great deal to me because when I was with Comcast I was paying a little over $100 per month (ouch).

Aereo is a scam! You can get the SAME results with a free HD antenna (you can literally build one in 5 minutes -- OR buy one for 10 bucks) + a 10 dollar PC card and streaming software!!!

If you have a TV you dont even need the PC card! Aereo is equivalent to paying for a free credit report - BUYER BEWARE!

Yup, Samsung definitely came prepared to unleash some cool technology at this year's CES. Unfortunately, their "vengeance" is going to cost DirecTV's customers thousands of dollars. I just can't get excited for a product that will require me to buy a brand new TV to function. I am more excited for the Hopper from DISH. I know Whole Home DVR is not a new technology, but DISH transcends this model by offering tons of web-integrated features such as SiriusXM and Pandora. DISH customers will also be able to record up to 6 live HD programs at once with PrimeTime anytime. My coworkers and I got to demo this at DISH the other day, and we are absolutely ready for it to be released! I'll post as soon as I know the date.

Love my Samsung smart TV. I bought one in the past few months, the 55" 7900 Series, and besides it having the best picture quality of any TV I have seen, the smart TV platform is fairly good. Pretty snappy, easy to navigate and overall, much better than I was expecting.

I expect to see more improvements in internet TV and multimedia usage on tablets this year. Perhaps more news events would be video-streamed, like the Olympics and the US Elections, and more personal videos will be shot in high definition.

I agree, as long as content providers are willing to pay big bucks they’ll get what they want for streaming. That’s also too bad that they’ll pass on that cost to their customers. What I’m thinking is that who wants to be limited to only certain live streaming channels, when you can stream them all with DISH Network and Sling Technology? I have over 250 live streaming channels with DISH, and also access to my DVR recordings. While working for DISH I acquired my 922 satellite receiver which works with Sling Technology that streams all of my content to my smart phone, so I can take all of my channels and DVR with me anywhere I go. In addition to all the live streaming I also have DISHOnline.com to stream thousands of movies and TV shows. The biggest bonus is that there are no additional charges with DISH for streaming.
