Sorenson Media Honored to Be Selected to Cloud Commission Advising Obama Administration

As I have frequently written, my company, Sorenson Media, has a 15 year legacy of innovation -- including innovation in the Cloud with industry-first enterprise-grade Cloud and Hybrid Cloud transcoding. We were just featured in TechCrunch on Wednesday in this regard.

We are honored to have received further validation of this Cloud prowess by being selected to be part of a newly organized Cloud technology Commission (named Cloud2) that make recommendations to the Obama Administration. Here is a link to the breaking story in InformationWeek. Marc Benioff, Chairman and CEO of salesforce.com, will serve as Co-Chair of the Commission which was organized by the TechAmerica Foundation. In the words of TechAmerica (here is the link), the Commission's mandate "is to provide the Obama Administration with recommendations for how government should deploy cloud technologies and for public policies that will help drive U.S. innovation in the cloud."

I will fly to Washington, D.C. next week to represent Sorenson Media on this Commission -- and am honored to have been selected. Here is the full list of other Commissioners -- it is a veritable "who's who" of the technology world.
