Video SEO -- Why It Matters & How We Take It to the Next Level

For example, an April 6, 2010 examination of Google Trends shows the top 10 Hot Topic searches generated more than 858 million text results, but only 158,101 video results—a ratio of 5,348-to-1. This relative lack of video competition within Google search results is balanced with the growing importance of blended or universal search, where Google presents video results alongside all other search results.
