YouTube -- It's Not Just for Entertainment Anymore

When you think of search engines, you think of Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask and others.

When you think of finding and viewing "stupid pet trick" videos, you think of YouTube.

But, in statistics that shocked me, YouTube is now the second most popular search tool -- second only to Google and now ahead of Yahoo! and all others. This past November, according to the New York Times, 2.8 billion searches were made on YouTube in the U.S., approximately 200,000 more than on Yahoo!

So, YouTube is not just for entertainment and news anymore. It is increasingly used as a reference tool, especially by kids growing up in the digital video revolution. And, video over the Internet is still only in its early innings.
