N.Y. Governor Proposes iTunes Tax to Address Budget Shortfall

Municipalities, of course, are hurting badly right now -- as are all of us. Slashing jobs and budgets, proposing new taxes.

Governor David Paterson of New York -- recently skewered in a controversial skit on Saturday Night Live -- has proposed new taxes on a slew of new items, including digital services like iTunes. The sounds of the holidays are ringing much more softly in New York and around the world this Xmas season.
