Yahoo! CEO Search Proceeds with Deliberate Haste

As reported by today's The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo!'s board is moving ever closer with its CEO search to replace Jerry Yang. And, high on the list of candidates is former Vodafone's former CEO Arun Sarin. Sarin had run Vodafone for nearly five years and his background fits the desired profile -- an experienced technology executive who had run a large public company for a number of years.

As you can see from my recent posts, there has been a steady drumbeat of major Yahoo!-related news in the past week. Such "noise" is frequently used to stir the pot sufficiently so that companies with strategic interests in a particular company -- in this case, Microsoft in Yahoo! -- are forced to play their hand. And, Steve Ballmer has not been exactly shy about his continued interests in Yahoo!.

Stay tuned -- significant moves will be made, because they need to be made to quell the shareholders of the troubled company.
