Walking for Epilepsy

Yesterday was the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County's annual "Sharon's Ride, Run and Walk" fundraising event -- I am honored to sit on the Board of this organization and do what I can to help raise awareness and funds for the cause. It was, as usual, a great event. The overall fundraising goal was $125,000 and I am pleased to say that we have nearly reached that goal (and am very proud of our individual team's effort -- "Team Nici" -- which raised $7,500 and placed third overall in terms of overall team giving; and am prouder still of all of our family and friends who joined us at the event).

Of course, each of us has his or her own "cause" that matters -- but epilepsy seems particularly misunderstood and hidden (despite the fact that over 2,700,000 Americans suffer from epilepsy -- that is more than twice the number of those suffering with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease combined).
