Hilary Clinton is now officially a candidate for the U.S. Presidency -- and she placed the Internet front and center in her strategic bid for the White House. Specifically, Hilary Clinton will use live online video chats to bring intimacy and the "personal touch" to her campaign, beginning as early as tomorrow, January 22. Online video -- including live video chats and video messages to the faithful and prospective faithful -- are a uniquely efficient and powerful way to reach potential voters (and, IMPORTANTLY, to interact with them by giving individuals a chance to reach back out to her). This "give and take" is at the core of Clinton's new efforts, as well as many others about whom I have blogged about in the past.
Online video is no longer on the fringes in political campaigns -- it is now front and center to both make ... and break ... those efforts.
