Vlogging ... The New Way to Get Discovered

Amanda Congdon of Rocketboom, Jessica Rose (aka Lonelygirl15) now on Revver, and ... Peter Zottolo (aka The SightSpeed Guy) now on DirecTV?

Yes, it's true -- our very own talent, Peter Zottolo from our crack Customer Support team who moonlighted as "The SightSpeed Guy" on our web site and in our newsletters, has been selected by DirecTV to host its new original vlogging news show "The Fizz Newzz."

Peter didn't catch the eye of DirecTV the old fashioned way -- via auditions. Rather, he simply vlogged and created a sizable following for his wacky vlog news reports on SightSpeed, YouTube, and other sites. The Internet did the rest -- Peter's talents were noticed by DirecTV and the rest, as they say, is history. This underscores the democratizing nature of the Internet -- anyone can easily create content (including vlogs) and build their own "brand."

Peter's new newzz show on DirecTV can be seen on Channel 101 beginning February 18 (and will air every other Sunday at 6 pm and 9 pm EST). More of his insights also can be seen on a new site called Vlip -- www.vlip.com.

Of course, his news reports also will continue to be aired regularly at SightSpeed -- at least until he is picked up by CNN ...

I encourage you to check them out and not just because he is "The SightSpeed Guy."

I like to think of video blogging as a new way to get ignored. ;)
