The "Big" Digital Media Story of 2006? That's Easy ... Gootube

Since this is the last business day of 2006, the time is right for me to chime in and give my "two cents" about what the BIG digital media story of 2006 was.

Drumroll please ...

And, the answer is -- hands down, Google's $1.6+ billion acquisition of video sharing service Youtube for all the reasons I have given before.

Among other things, Gootube formally introduces what the big story for 2007 will be on the digital media side -- i.e., video over the Internet.
